JLM Rally team

Jason shall be seen out competing on various rallies in 2014 in various cars ,competing alongside customers past , present and future . Jason's son George has moved on from the junior rally championship and will be competing later in the year once he turns 17 , mean while he will be trying to gain as much experience as possible jumping in/driving as many different cars as possible . Please Look out for updates on this page throughout the year.

Hall Trophy Rally 2015

George and Howard back in the Escort for his second ever outing in a rwd car , aiming to match their first outing victory- the pair entered the Hall Trophy rally , a smooth all tarmac rally at the Blyton race track , running into the dark making this an interesting event - The Escort struggled in the freezing tempretures all day , un able to get the tyres warm enough to work properly , quite simply the tyres just were not soft enough for the conditions on the day. Other wise a faultless drive by George/Howard having a great battle all day with the top 5 cars , ending the day 2nd O/A .

Dukeries Rally 2015

Jason and Howard back together for this event , in a modern spec Mk2 Escort for the first time & Jason's first tarmac rally since 1997 , With a strong entry at an iconic venue such as Donington , the day promised to be exciting and very entertaining for the 1000's of spectators which turned out to watch . Although the sun was out the first 7 mile stage was very slippery , with a great mixture of twisty off track roads as well as the famous corners such as Craner curves , Coppice & red gate on the race track . Jason & Howard settled straight into the groove and set the fastest stage time in stage 1 . In Stage 2 the crew pushed the car even harder but unfortunately the car developed a miss fire and Jason took the decision to turn the car off and save the engine from any damage , a difficult call when you are leading The Dukeries rally but the right decision .

Harold Palin Rally 2015

George and Howard team up again , for the first time driving a Rear wheel drive car . Supported by Jason lepley Motorsport and Fuchs Oils , the event surface was a mixture of gravel and tarmac. The rally started with alternator problems for George/Howard ...causing the car to run with no elec aids , no rev counter or gear display and reduced engine power. At lunch halt the problem was repaired and George had got the hang of rear wheel drive .... a big push in the afternoon saw the George & Howard take victory , beating many power modern 4wd cars . The duo's first senior rally victory together - impressive considering it was Georges first event ever in a rwd car .

Fulbeck Rally 2015

George teamed up with previous co driver Howard Pridmore for a local rally in a Gp.A Corsa 1600cc , after the Malcolm Wilson Rally in Cumbria the team wanted to put any issues behind them and prove a point. George and Howard dominated to 1600cc class all day , a brake master cylinder problem robbed them of a top ten result overall but a class win was just what the doctor ordered.

Goodwood FOS 2015

Another great Festival of Speed , the sun shone all weekend , the rally stage was similar to previous years but still fun to drive , this year JLM team took the Rothmans Opel Ascona 400 , and re united Rauno Aaltonen with the car . George and Jason shared the car all weekend.

Malcolm Wilson Rally 2015

After a difficult start to the season the car was reprepared after the Wydean Rally , a local engineering company "Nigel E Hepburn Ltd" based in Carlise like the rally itself had spotted Georges talent and wanted to help & give support/Sponsor a yound team for his local rally . Unfortunately George and co driver Matt Edwards had an accident in stage 1 leading to their retirement from the rally . This was planned to be the last event before a revision break for Georges A level exams .

Race Retro 2015

Jason received an invite to the ever popular event , and this year with the added bonus of rally legend Ari Vatanen attending the show . Jason and George took turns to drive the Rothmans Opel Ascona 400 on the rally stage. On Sunday the bonus was that Ari agreed to drive one rally car on the stage .... and guess what , he chose to use Jason's Rothmans Ascona 400 . A great experience for the team chatting with Ari about his memories of these cars.

Wyedean Rally 2015

First rally of the season for the JLM team , George first multi venue gravel rally , and with a new co driver for the day "Will Rutherofrd -Child" and on a new type of tyre for the first time. Unfortunately in stage 2 the group A driveshaft bar snapped , leaving the crew limping through the stage for 5 miles. Auxiliary service was at the end of the stage , and the team managed to swop the broke driveshaft with just two minutes to spare . George & Will continued on with the rally for George to gain forest miles/experience , but due to the time lost were now running at the back of the field catching slower cars in stage. No further issues with the car durng the day and time to reflect on the days events and prepare for the next round .

S A Gas Premier Rally 2014

George entered his first adult rally and maiden gravel event , after a slow stage 1 (caught car in front) George and Howard settled into it straight away , taking the class lead and continued to lead until the drive shaft failed in stage 5 , a disapointing but promising end to Georges first gravel event as he was also leading the FWD award .

Wales Rally GB 2014

Jason and Howard teamed up to start the Wales Rally GB National once again , after previous success on this rally the team was hopeful of a good result , unfortunately this was not to be the case , shortly after starting the first stage an electrical gremlin showed up and caused an intermittant misfire, along with other smaller problems which the team could not trace during the event and decided to retire . Saving the car for another day.

George turns 17yrs old and prepares for adult rallying

After two seasons of the British junior 1000 rally championship , George has now turned 17 years old and is preparing for adult rallying , testing a Vaux Corsa 1600cc in Wales , using the prize money he won at last years Prof World Motorsport Expo for the "young driver of the year" award , to fund the testing and some tuition .

Goodwood FOS 2014

Jason and George were lucky enough to once again have invite to the motorsport event of the year , in the Ex Blomqvist Sierra RS Cosworth. A great weekend as usual meeting lots of friends /colleagues from various motorsport circles. After winning last years Junior championship in a Citroen George got to meet Rally legend Seb Loeb .

Dukeries Rally 2014

Jason teamed up with his son George Lepley for the Dukeries rally , as his usual co driver "Howard Pridmore" was recovering from a routine operation. Wet muddy conditions made the stages very slippery , and Jason/George struggled with the wrong tyre choice in the muddy conditions . Going into stage three 3 seconds off the lead , but then for no apparent reason they punctured in the stage - costing them valuable time, but managed to hold onto 2nd place (85 cars in the 2wd rally) . They pushed on to try and claw back the lost time but unfortunately on a fast section of the stage they lost the car in the mud and crashed out of the rally. Both the crew were OK but disappointed and the car will repair.

Donington Historic Festival 2014

May Bank holiday weekend , the sun was shining so Jason took 2 cars to Donington race track to meet up with some old friends and have some fun on the rally stage set up by the "Rallying with Group B" club . He demonstrated/drove the lovely sounding Rover SD1 , and the Ex Blomqvist Sierra RS Cosworth .

Hamsterley Rally 2014

Jason and Howard teamed up once again for the North Yorkshire round of the RAC championship , with a full entry the event promised to be a good one. Unfortunately for the crew of the Titan Oils backed Escort this was not the case, from the very start of stage 1 troubles began - with Howards helmet intercom not working properly leaving Jason unable to hear the notes , but they still managed to record an equal 5th fastest time, stage 2 was worse , not only suffering with a broken intercom next issue was the gear lever circlip which came out and Jason ended up with the gear lever in his hand mid stage while trying to select 4th gear , Game over ...the crew managed to do repairs and crawl out of the stage and through the next one and back to service , where they decided to call it a day after already taking a stage max on stage 2. Next event Dukeries Rally in Clipstone forest , the teams local event .

Roskirk Stages 2014

For George 2014 is all about gaining as much experience as possible ready for when he becomes 17 later in the year , Steve Perez invited George to co-driver in the iconic stratos at Roskirk stages as a reward/prize for winning the Kick energy 2013 Junior rally championship . A great experience for George and with the new super powerful 24 valve engine fitted. George was shocked how little room there was inside the car but enjoyed every minute of it ! A big thanks must go to Steve and all at Dansport for making him feel so welcome and part of the team.

Race Retro 2014

Another great turn out at the show , the event seems to becoming more and more popular each year ,the day started off cool but the sun came out along with 1000's of spectators , the rally demonstration stage was very popular and the crowds lined up the along the fence. We decided to take the ex Russell Brookes Andrews Heat for Hire GP.A Sierra RS Cosworth for George to drive for the day , Mark Higgins had a wee go in the car too . The day ended well with an informal meeting at the local Hotel for some awards where George was awarded the best demonstrated Group A car award .

Febuary 2014

Another wet muddy test day , a great but difficult car to drive in these conditions !

Awards night for British Junior 1000 rally championship

George and Howard attended the awards night for the Formula 1000 championship at the Casa Hotel , to collect their awards for winning the 2013 Junior rally championship , awards were presented by championship sponsor and Hotel owner "Steve Perez" and championship chairman Tristan Dodd .

2013 Season News

Winter Testing

After a great season and winning the 2013 Junior Rally Championship , and although George is still eligible for another year in the junior rallying the team feels it will not help him as a driver so have taken the decision to take time out of competition and prepare for forest rallying . So this winter and early spring the plan is to get George out testing in a variety of different cars in various different forests to broaden his experience, before deciding later in the season which route/class to take once he turns 17 (Aug 2014). George said" driving the Peugeot today was awesome ... its has four times the power of the Citroen C1 , a tight LSD , C/R box , big brakes , its a real rally car which can take some abuse , sliding the car into corners under braking and the diff pulling you round the corner was an excellent feeling . I felt I was treading on egg shells all the time with the junior car waiting for something to break , not to mention the forests, what can I say ...this is real rallying"

Premier Historic Rally 2013

The last event of the year for the team . Jason /Howard ran first on the road after winning last years event , the first stage was very slippery , covered with wet leaves . The rally was made up of 6 stages in Clipstone Forest complex , known for being very fast with several blind crests. Jason & Howard led from start to finish , recording fastest time on every stage. Jason would like to thank Fuchs Titan Oils for their continued support.

A great way to finish the year , coupled with Georges success this year . The team JLM cant wait for 2014 .

A superb finish to George/Howards rally season , George was short listed as one of the finalists at the Professional Motorsport World Expo 2013 in Cologne Germany. Where a panel of well respected motorsport people judge the whole package ,results , speed ,media exposure & awareness , how you have improved and how you deal with disappointments , etc etc. George came out as the clear winner this year and attended the Gala dinner / awards along with the other finalists where he collected his award and picked up a cheque for a £1000 , further interviews and other award winners inc "WRC Volkswagen motorsport" can be seen at

Anglesey Junior 1000 Rally

A very difficult rally for George and Howard , knowing they already have 5 wins on the championship score board there fore only needing a reasonable finish to win the championship (best 6 scores count). The team decided to use this event as a banker and drive sensibly and get the job done. George found it very hard not to be drawn into a fight for another win , he has already shown his pace this season and now was the time to show he has the mental strength and maturity to match. He and Howard handled the situation perfectly and bought the car home 4th in the british juniors. This was probably Georges biggest test so far in his short rallying career and he drove 100% to the plan . BRILLIANT ! Still one remaining rally in championship , but non of his fellow competitors are able to catch up or match George/Howards points scores. Making them the

2013 British Junior 1000 Rally Champions !

Thanks to EVERYONE who has helped & supported him along the way !

Pembrey Junior 1000 Rally

The team made the long journey to South West Wales for the next round of the British Junior 1000 championship , The event was held at the old Pembrey race track circuit incorperating the infamous permeter roads inc. the famous Beach road , The day started dry but after stage 2 the forecast rain arrived and the stages became very slippery. George and Howard went fastest in stage 1 and then increase their lead all day , once they had a good margin George/Howard had the difficult job of having to back off and drive around any pot holes etc which could potentially cause punctures . The pair bought the car home with no issues and another full championship points haul. With another 2 rounds to go , George/Howard have 5 wins on the board ,so one more reasonable result needed and the 2013 championship is theirs.

Once again George/Howard to like to thank everyone for their support , their sponsors "Jordan Road Surfacing" , JLM , Titan oils as well as all the moral support from family and friends along the way.

Trackrod Historic Rally

Jason Lepley /Howard Pridmore

Escort RS1800

Two day format for the historic event was well received judging by the size of the entry list and the amount of spectators stood in Dalby forests friday evening , Jason & Howard took to the dark stages well and finished the night stages 6th O/A after a couple of time costing errors stalling the engine in the process. The three Saturday stages were fast as usual in Yorkshire , the pace was fast in the historic rally , the Escort performed well but the team couldnt improve their friday night position due to a couple more small errors made while trying a little too hard to make up for lost time , but the team enjoyed the event and promised to return next year.

credit goes to Steve Pugh for the photo.

Woodbridge Junior 1000 Rally 2013

Another successful weekend for George Lepley and Howard Pridmore in their Citroen C1 at Woodbridge stages in Suffolk . The pair led the Junior rally from start to finish , now making it 4 wins from 5 starts . With three rallies remaining in the 2013 championship (best 6 scores which count) puts the team in a strong position . At the prize giving George once again showed his maturity and delivered a well thought out speech thanking his sponsors , championship and event organisers , marshals etc. He is mindful of the importance of how you present and conduct yourself outside the car as well as performing inside the car ! Next event in 3 weeks time in South Wales at Pembrey race circuit.

Barkston Heath Junior 1000 Rally 2013

The sun was out and the scene was set for a good days motorsport, George and Howard seeded car 1 in the junior rally set off into the first 2 stages in their usual determined way and recorded a time 13 seconds faster than their closest rival , on arrival of the finish control their car was pounced upon by the scrutineers and it was deemed illegal due to no spare wheel being carried, (of which their was no weight benefit as the car carries lead weights to make the legal weight limit )the team had misread the regs and a fellow competitor had noticed it and waited for us to fall into their trap before lodging their protest . The officals were happy to let us continue under appeal subject to a weight or time pentalty approved by fellow junior competitors but unfortunately some of which had no intention of being sportsman like and declined that option, which is a shame at this level in the sport (junior rallying) ! The team were obviously disappointed by their actions but accepted the decision and now look forward to the next event with even more determination.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013

Once again Jason received an invite from Lord March to go and drive on the rally stage for 3 days , Jason took the ex Stig Blomqvist GP.A Sierra RS Cosworth, and this year Jason's son George co-drove , during the weekend young George couldnt help but have his head turned by the WRC Citroen team. So George went over for a chat and once he had told Mikko Hirvonen that he also rallies a Citroen, he happily took time out and had a good long chat all the details/controls & proceedures of driving a DS3 WRC. They chatted further about life outside rallying and how to prepare for rallies , then followed by taking him for a run around the rally stage .

Brawdy Stages 2013 Junior 1000

A very long trip to south west Wales for another round of the British Junior 1000 championship, George and codriver Howard were fired up and ready to go from the start , its was the hottest day of the year so far so the crew expected the grip to big high , 10 mile stages in the extreme heat proved too much on the abrasive tarmac roads for the fast road control tyres they have to use, the tyre pressures & tyre tempretures shot up (more than previously experienced) making the car very difficult to drive in stage 1 with the car not wanting to turn into the corners (resulting a few over shoots) back in service and a change in tyre strategy help sort that problem for the rest of the day, next issue was catching the slower cars on the second loop of the stage , a few seconds were lost but no big issue, George / Howard had got into their stride and pulled out a comfortable lead and bought the car home for another win and max. championship points once again. George would like to thank Jordan road surfacing and JLM for their continued support.

Caerwent Stages 2013 Junior 1000

Just over 3 months since George/Howards last rally due to taking a mid season break for George's GCSE exams, having done his last exam on the Friday and travelling to the rally on Saturday , the team had done no preparation or had any C1 seat time . With the championship stating you can drop 2 rounds it was always the plan not score any points at Caerwent and use the event as a test , with this in mind the crew settled into a comfortable pace and were lying second after the first loop of stages , a push in the next stage saw them take fastest time , but back in service the team accessed the risks they had to take in order to run at this pace (caerwent known its high kerbs / ditches etc) and with the next championship round only 2 weeks away it was the obvious decision not to risk bending the car , so on this occassion George/ Howard used their head and decided to settle for second place rather than challenge for the win.

Dukeries Rally 2013

After a long dusty day in the Nottinghamshire Forest , Jason and regular co driver Howard Pridmore took victory in the historic class and also won the 1st 2wd car home award inc all the modern cars , the day didnt go without drama , when the starter motor broke in two and the connecting wiring shorted out causing the wiring loom and switch to melt and fill the cockpit with smoke , quick repairs in service saw normal order resume and the team take a comfortable win. Thanks once again go to everyone involved from the sponsors Titan Oils , JLM , Dury Deliveries , and of course the team , Howard , Andy , George and Tony .

A few pics from various 2013 test sessions so far !

RAC Tour Of Hamsterley Rally 2013

First time out this season for Jason and Howard in the Titan Oils Historic Escort , it was always going to be tough at the front as this promised to be a huge entry and the most competitive historic rally to date , with everybody who's anybody in the historic rally scene competeting , Jason reported his lack of recent seat time wasnt helping but a couple of car related issues were costing the team valuable time on the stages , and having to limp through the last stage in order to get a finish , the net result wasnt what Jason & Howard were hoping for but a finish on this occassion after the dramas was as much as the team could hope for. The car will now be repaired and ready for the teams next event , BTRDA Dukeries rally in Clipstone Forest . Thanks to Pete , George , James and Susuannah for their help and support in service .

Pre Season test

Jason & co driver Howard Pridmore prepare for their first event of the year in the Silkolene/Titan Oils Historic Rally Escort RS1800 , although regularly driving various rally cars Jason has not competed since last years Premier rally in November in which they won the Historic rally , The car is now being prepared ready for a test next week in preparation for the RAC round in North Yorkshire in a couple of weeks time.

Junior 1000 Rally Championship

Round 2

Lee Holland Memorial Rally

Only two weeks after round 1 , the Junior championship headed to North Wales to the Isle of Anglesey for the second round. The weather was wet and cold ...the stages were fast and demanding in the conditions . George and co driver Howard Pridmore got their heads down and drove the car as fast as they dare in the first pair of stages , and were fastest in the junior rally and incredibly set a time inside the top ten of the main rally. The rain continued throughout the day and George/Howard continued to increase the lead the Junior rally . The Citroen crew Finished a superb 16th overal in the main rally and won the Junior rally out right. Superb result for the team and max points for the championship once again. George would like to thank his family , friends and sponsors for their support once again

Junior 1000 Rally Championship

Round 1

Three sisters kart track March 3rd

Round 1 of the 2013 championship , George has teamed up with co driver Howard Pridmore and supported once again by Jordan road Surfacing , it was important to get a good finish and some points on the board. A total of 12 short , tight and twisty stages. The team knew the nature of the stages was not going to suit the gearing of the Citroen so max. attention was required. The competition was fierce but the car and team performed perfectly all day and were fastest on every stage of the day. Superb start to the season for the team , no time to relax , next event in 2 weeks time at Anglesey race track .

Race Retro 2013

This year George was invited along with some fellow Junior 1000 championship contenders to go and demonstrate their skills on the live rally stage , along with some other cars from the" Rallying with Group B" club . Making the full spectrum of cars and drivers from the past , current and future demonstrating on the live rally stage. This meant constant entertainment for the crowds with several cars on the stage at the same time . George made the most of this opportunity and drove to impress in the slippery conditions , his driving was noticed and was rewarded with the "Best Demonstrated" award at the end of the day. George would like to thank all who were involved with organising this event and for his invitation to the event.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------Event reports and photos from the 2012 season

Wyedean Historic Rally 2012

Due to freak weather conditions this years Wyedean rally turned into a non event for the historic crews. Jason & Howard set out on Dunlop gravel tyres and drove to the first stage , where on arrival they could barely get the car to the start line due to sheet ice covering the stage . After only a few hundred yards it was obvious the conditions were extreme , when they arrived at the first incline the car came to a stand still , even after 3 attempts they could not get the car up the hill without being pushed by the speccies and marshalls, without snow/ice tyres the stage was almost impossible, so like many others Jason decided to retire and save the car for another day.

Race Retro 2012

Another successful well attended event with visitors from all over the World , blessed with good weather all weekend. Jason was asked to provide a car for Russell Brookes to drive on the Live rally stage , also invited to bring another car to demonstrate at the show . So 2 totally different cars were transported to Stoneleigh . One high power RWD car (Sierra Cosworth) and one Low power FWD car (Peugeot 309GTI) Both were used on both days to entertain the crowds.

Jason enjoying sliding the little Peugeot !

Anglesey-British Junior 1000 Rally 2012

Jason's son "George Lepley" will enter this years British Junior 1000 Rally Championship , this is an ultra competitive championship for small 1000cc cars , This championship is approved by the MSA for juniors to start their rally careers at the early age of 14 - 17 years old ,alongside guiding and navigating will be Jasons' usual co-driver Howard Pridmore. Having recently turned 14 years old this will be George's first rally full year of rallying.

Anglesey was the first round for George/Howard . After a fastest time in stage 1 the day got slowly worse. stage 2 saw the pair struggle with a bent steering rack after following a car through a chicane which knocked a lorry tyre in his path making right hand turns very difficult for the rest of the day , made worse by a puncture in stage 4 , the rest of the day was spent playing catch up and while the crew achieved more fastest and 2nd fastest times the best they could achieve was 5th O/A in the junior event.

RAF Honington Stages- British Junior 1000 Rally 2012

After a disappointing first round , George & Howard were determind to put their bad luck behind them , attacking from the start , they were the fastest "Junior 1000" on every stage by some considerable margin building a huge lead in this competitive championship of well over a minute , only to be let down by the car on stage 7 , through no fault of the crew, on a straight smooth track the driveshaft decided to let go and snap in two .... leaving the car stranded and once again the crew disappointed . Hopefully their run of bad luck will change before their next round in Wales in a few weeks time. George would like to take this opportunity to thank his personal sponsors for their support and belief they have given him so far .

Tour of Hamsterley Rally 2012

After travelling north to Rally HQ , Jason & Howard settled into the tricky North Yorkshire stages. After 2/3 weeks of heavy rain the stages were very slippery , so Jason decided to choose a soft compound tyre for the mornings 4 stages....which turned out to be the wrong choice and suffered severe tyre wear costing them a lot of time but more importantly made the car very hard to control once the tyres were bald . The team swopped onto a harder compound for the last stage which proved to be much better . Jason and Howard finished the day 2nd O/A in the Historic rally and 1st in class.

Dukeries Rally 2012

With a last minute change of co-driver , Jason's regular man "Howard Pridmore" had an accident on his mountain bike and broke his collar bone . Local man "Ian Bass stepped in at short notice. Jason and Ian soon settled in on the wet slippy stages and opened up a healthy lead in the historic class despite the windscreen wipers had stopped working , making it very interesting at times. Stage 5 Jason had a small over shoot at a junction , the rear brakes stuck on and Jason stalled the engine , the hot engine flooded and wouldnt restart for nearly 2 minutes and the had to rely on a bump start from the marshalls. From hero to zero in one moment of madness dropping the Titan Escort way down the order, Jason and Ian spent the rest of the day playing catch up and managed to climb back upto 3rd in class by the end of the last stage. Jason would like to thank Ian for doing a great job and stepping in at such late notice , also to all his crew as usual and his sponsor "Fuchs Titan Oils"

Caerwent Rally / Junior 1000 Championship 2012

Round/Rally number 3 for George this year, and a last minute change of co-driver to Johnathan Jackson , after Howard is still recovering from a broken collar bone. The venue lived upto its reputation , being very demanding , narrow roads with wheel bending kerbs . The day started with rain making conditions very tricky. George was warned to take it easy in stage 1 , which he did and set 2nd fastest time . The next stage was not so good , as he missed judged his braking point in the slippery conditions and left the road and hit a fence costing valuable time . The next stage he had a puncture and lost even more time, then one drama after another unfolded the harder they tried through out the day with a total of 3 punctures and a close encounter with a brick wall making the wheel base 2" shorter down one side ! Not a perfect day for the new partnership George and Johnathan but they can take comfort as they were the fastest & highest placed Micra all day inc. the F1000 adults by a considerable margin and did manage to finish 3rd overall and 2nd in class .The Micra needs quick repairs, next event in 2 weeks time at Brawdy in South Wales.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012

Jason was fortunate enough to be invited to the festival of speed again for 2012 , this year with the ex Stig Blomqvist GP.A Ford Sierra RS Cosworth , the car has not been used for 20 plus years. So a few days in the workshop saw the car serviced and ready for action again . The recent rain made the chalk based stage very slippery , with this being a non competitive event Jason was determined not to bruise such an original & iconic car . As usual with Goodwood the crowds came in their 1000's and lined the stage , plenty of sideways action and lots of socialising was the order of the weekend.

Brawdy Stages 2012 Junior 1000

Rally number 4 for George , the team made the long journey to south west Wales , with JJ co-driving once again , the team set off for the first stage raring to go , they returned back to service with the car over heating and down on power , after all the checks done , thermostat removed , water sealant fitted & water topped up , they went back out for the second stage , but afraid the same thing happened started over heating in the stage and the engine lost torque/power , with only 4 stages to go the team decided to carry on and hope the engine held together ....the car used as much water as it did fuel but she held togther in a fashion , the crew did a fantastic job and managed to bring the car home in 3rd place .

Once again George would like to thank all his sponsors and his supporters , and is looking forward to his next event "Barkston Heath" August 19th.

Barkston Heath Stages 2012 Junior 1000

After a disappointing run on the last round , driving a car down on power .... as suspected the head gasket had gone. Now back to full health the team headed to the next round . The weather was red hot and the stages were very abrasive, a battle for the lead was on , George and co driver JJ were lying in 2nd place only 13 secs off the lead , and while waiting to go into the last 2 stages the heavens opened and monsoon type rain fell , flooding the roads , this made for an exciting finale to the rally. On the penultimate stage George went fastest , some 17 seconds quicker than the man in front handing lead over to George , so it was game on for the last stage with a slender 4 second cushion , George went fastest again to further increase his lead . Finally after all his previous mechanical disappointments George has won his first rally and got to do his first rally winners speech at the prize giving. Hopefully now he has broke his duck he can carry the winning streak onto the next round. Once again George would like to thank everyone who has supported him and his sponsors.

Mark Ellis Woodbridge Stages Junior 1000

A tough weekend for the team , during a pre event shakedown the morning before scruntineering , while pushing hard in training the engine cried enough and lost all compression ! The team raced back to the workshop and stripped the engine , 8 bent valves ! A donor scrap car was stripped for parts and a replacement engine was quickly put together , no time test or tune it ...the car loaded back on the trailer and the team travelled 150 miles to scruntineering. The rally got underway and George complained of lack of power/torque ...but as each stage past he reported it getting better and better as the valves lapped themselves in . George held 2nd O/A for most of the day , then the rain came down and George seized his chance to attack for the win , taking time out of the leader leaving it all to play for in the last 12 mile stage . A big attack was planned as he had a comfortable lead over 3rd place . Two miles in to the stage George/JJ punctured a front tyre over , the pair had to change their game plan from attack to damage limitation in a split second ....approx 10 miles to complete with only 3 tyres on their wagon ! With a minute gap between 2nd and 3rd place , the team had to drive as fast as possible ...unfortunately they were unable to hold onto their 2nd place and finished the rally 3rd O/A .

Pre - 2013 Junior 1000 car test

Planning ahead , George and his team are preparing for 2013 with a car update , moving from his trusty old Nissan Micra to a more modern Citroen C1 , making it more appealing to sponsors etc. Today George had his first taste of the Citroen and noticed how much easier it is to drive than the older Nissan . After a good but short test the week before the decision was taken to use the newly aquired Citroen C1 in prep for 2013 season . Stage 1 was always going to be a learning curve in a new car , and George/JJ pressed on as hard as possible but 2/3 small mistakes during the stage cost them dearly and they recorded 5th fastest time , the next stage settled in and got on with the job and pushed hard and the split time after the first loop looked good , but the teams run of bad luck seems to have followed them into the new car .....on the second loop of the stage the driveshaft broke and left the crew strandard . George and JJ jumped out and attempt to push the car the remaining 3 miles of the stage ....of which they did but were over the time limit and were out of the event ! Now the team must look forward to the next and last event of the season at Anglesey race track in 2 weeks time !

Once agian George would like to thank his sponsors for their support.

KIA Motors Anglesey Stages / J1000 Rally

Another long road trip to North Wales for the final Rally of the year , a two day rally which was split into a double header for the junior 1000 rally championship. Day 1 consisted of 8 stages , 6 in day light and 2 in the dark. George was co driven by Jonathan Jackson once again , and after their last rally the plan was to get a finish in the Citroen , everything went to plan and even with the changing conditions they led the rally from stage 1 to stage 8 with a comfortable lead. The team felt very confident of continuing the pace the following day . But as we all know with rallying - take nothing for granted , the first stage on Sunday morning the Citroens diff cried enough and the car lost all drive , once again the crew jumped out of the car and pushed it to the finish line in hope the car being repairable once back in the service area , unfortunately on this occassion sadly it wasnt . Game over , hero to zero in a split second !

George would like to thank his sponsors Jordan road surfacing , B&S Catering and fuchs titan oils for all their support during 2012 , now the team has to prepare for the 2013 season in their Citreon C1.

Professional Motorsport World Exhibition 2012

After a difficult year , George had a nice surprise when he was invited to go the Professional Motorsport World Exhibition show in Cologne Germany, as one of the 5 finalist for the Junior rally driver of the year award. Even though he did not finish top of the championship table this year after too many mechanical failures robbing him of vital points! His speed has not gone unnoticed . George flew to Cologne for the awards diner followed by the exhibition the following day , making the most of this opportunity George made himself known to some key people within the motorsport industry.
