MK2 Escort 2.5 XE gp.4
Built to a high spec, recently been fully refreshed with thousands of pounds spent.
Shell. Weld in SD roll cage with X diagonals, x door bars, roof bar, dash bar etc. 5 linked with big link bars & joints, tall round turrets, big gearbox and diff tunnels, exhaust tunnel, welded in seat rails, Big tarmac arches & front spoiler currently fitted but also Alloy traditional gp.4 size arches. Just fitted with new Carbon bonnet and boot lid (the original painted steel ones included in sale ready to refit) new roof vent etc new smoked poly carb windows and elec heated windscreen.Very very good rust free shell …still has original floor pans with little or no repairs done or required. Seam welded, gusseted and strengthened shell.
Engine. 2.5 Vauxhall XE 16v engine, Just been fully rebuilt, running on brand new SBD 52mm throttle bodies, Omex ECU, all steel dry sumped engine, titan sump and pump, zero miles since rebuild … steel crank, steel flywheel, steel rods, big valves, forge pistons, very mild cams with vernier timing wheels. This engine gives superb torque and is unbelievably easy to drive, like a road car. Currently approx 285bhp but It is asking to be up specced on cams … and will easily give well over 320 plus bhp
Transmission. Quaife 5 speed gearbox, big propshaft, Fully floating Twin taper atlas axle with alloy dural brace and 4.6 LSD, Twin plate clutch.
Brakes. AP alloy 4 pot front open back calipers and vented AP discs, on alloy bells and new alloy hubs, AP 2383 alloy 2 pot rear calipers and AP vented disc brakes, dash adj. bias pedal box, Upright hyd hand brake. aeroquip lines.
Suspension Bilstein 2 1/4 adj platform struts, R/Jointed top mounts, adj. TCA’s, Adj compression struts, Strengthened tarmac steering arms, new quick rack , elec power steering, Chassis mounted engine mounts, Bilstein coil over rear turret shockers, big 4 link bars and joints, chassis brace on panard rod tower.
Other .Flocked dash , race technology digital dash with shift lights etc, Alloy rad, Alloy fuel tank and pumps, Alloy dry sump tank with aeroquip and earls unions, Quick release steering wheel, full harness & rally seats on adj frames, new Simpson exhaust manifold and 3″ system, plus lots more new parts fitted, new DS3000 pads alround, new wheel bearings , new steering rack , engine fully rebuilt, new ZF lsd/ axle rebuild etc
Superb rust free shell, superb mechanic spec. Fresh engine rebuild and lots of money spent on other new parts. Would be great car with a sequential gearbox fitted, would need seats/belts,exting replacing for in date to go rallying !
