Professionally restored to a very high standard leaving no stone unturned with no expense spared , all mechanical parts replaced for new while retaining the original works SD shell and original ID . Ideal for Historic/classic rallying & more than capable of winning just like they used to in the old days! Has done approx. 100 miles as a shake down – course car at local sprint , car then had an invite Goodwood Festival of Speed 09 , and Rally day at Castle Combe and is now ready to use in anger !
Original works genuine SD Long Wheel Base shell, just under gone a professional renovation which included new floors, several panels and a bare metal respray inside and out. Could be changed back to Silver/DTV colours if required (buyers choice)
Built brand new by J.S Motorsport(known 2.3 specialist) FULL WORKS SPEC 2.3 TWIN CAM .Brand new D.K.E knife edge steel crank and rods , forge pistons , full spec head with special profile (max torque )cams , works dizzy , Pace dry sump system , obviously fitted with all new Goodridge aeroquip dry sump lines etc., running on Twin 48’s , etc. , Prof. built then Dyno run/tested , then rolling road tuned once installed into the car & fitted with a gear down starter motor. ALL NEW.
Brand new fully floating Twin taper Atlas axle, fitted with a 4.6 CWP and ZF LSD, Alloy hubs, 2 piece half shafts etc. New Group 4 Heavy duty Propshaft, Original ZF race gear box properly stripped and checked, brass forks, steel rings, direct top 5th gear etc. (not an aftermarket kit fitted into a sunbeam lotus box …!) New twin plate paddle clutch
Shown in photos fitted with new Reiger dampers all-round (Historic -no canisters fitted) but currently fitted with new set of Bilstein dampers all-round and works spec springs. Brand new works spec front wishbones, new pivot pins/bolts bushes, Original works springs, new rear arms, Works high ratio rack etc.
Original works spec braking system , AP Monte-Carlo front brakes and new AP 2383 twin pot rear callipers , fitted with new AP vented discs all-round mounted to Brand new alloy hubs all-round .Original but rebuilt works bias pedal box , original works hyd. hand brake , and obviously all fitted with new master cylinders , reservoirs and new Goodridge aeroquip lines throughout.
Fitted with a brand new Premier bag tank specially made as an exact copy of the original (which was seriously out of date) also fitted with original type Elec fuel pumps all neatly stored away under the original plastic covers in the boot of the car, and again fitted with new Goodridge aeroquip lines throughout.
Brand new wiring loom sympathetically made as a copy of the original Inc. the relay boards under the passenger dash. Brand new Alloy radiators , oil cooler , Brand new Tony Law repack able exhaust system with new matching exh manifold , Original works dash & gauges , Springalex steering wheel , door cards etc. Chassis mount Sump guard , body kit guards and lots , lots more .(Seats in photo have been swopped due to driver preference) now fitted with a Pair of new Recaro SPA seats , new 6 point belts , new Elec plumbed in extinguisher .Please telephone for further details .
This car is exceptional, it has the ability to win Historic rallies out right, or just for ever increasing number of demonstration type events. Such as Goodwood FOS, Raceretro at Stoneleigh / Rally day at Castle combe / Rally show at Chatsworth, Lurgan Park etc.
This car still retained its original shell & ID so it still has all its character and value for future investment. Complete with current MOT, V5C, MSA log book and Historic vehicle Identity papers.
